one of the most wonderful days of the year

ITS HERE!! New Years Eve!! Those who know me best know its one of my very favorite days :) At the moment I am spending it in my bathrobe, listing to the Frozen soundtrack.. My darling husband is working very hard until 4 and then we we head to Pocatello. So I am just kinda waiting for time to pass and getting excited for our party tonight. Instead of cleaning like I should be I am just being lazy and I thought I'd spend some time blogging since its been a few months :)

As many do on a day like today, I have been reflecting on the past year thinking of all the wonderful things that happened :) Last New Years Eve I was not to happy about letting go of 2012. It was a fabulous year! The year Michael returned home from his mission. The year we started our eternity together. I wanted to continue living in 2012, but 2013 came anyway. But, it did not disappoint. I have loved it. It has been yet again another fabulous year. In less then 12 hours 2014 will come. I am going to look forward to it coming. I know it will come with new magical moments just as this year did. But for the next less the 12 hours I will enjoy the last of this year and continue to make memories of 2013.

The Best of 2013 for us..

summer recap

Summer ended for us yesterday and Michael is back in school. Which is equally cool and lame at the same time. We have had such a good summer! But it is also nice to be progressing and I LOVE the Fall, so I am excited for that.

Last year during the summer we hid in our apartment and never saw the sun or made friends just enjoying our newlywed bliss together. This year we were a little more adventurous. Don't get me wrong we loved last summer! And.. I still feel like we are enjoying newlywed bliss :) Now we just have friends and we go outside every once in a while. Well..maybe I should clarify what I mean when I say friends. We have a married couple that lives next door that we love, and I would say they are our closest friends here in Rexburg. But other then that me and Michael are still kinda loners ha.. but we like it that way.

The highlight of the summer of course was the Quinn family reunion. Loved it. We went camping once! Finally put our tent to use :) We got to go on lots of dates. We went on lots of walks while the sun set. I really love the location of Rexburg that we live in. We were a little bummed when our favorite ice cream store closed. I think we got ice cream 3 days in a row before they closed. Oh speaking of ice cream, I am working at Coldstone again. Don't worry I am also still working at Curves. I know my jobs are a little contradicting.. but what can ya do. Oh! Also speaking of Curves that reminds me.. I don't think I ever wrote about hitting my goal weight. I did it :) I weigh less now then I ever did all through high school, my body fat percentage says I am very healthy which makes me happy and I feel great!

that boy scout of mine set that tent up all by himself in like 5 min..
he's a pretty cool guy :)

These two are our neighbor married friends that I was telling you about. Kelsey Jane & Michael. Just kidding her middle name isn't Jane. But I like to call her Kelsey Jane anyway. We love them

Michael got a larger academic scholarship this semester because he did so stinkin well last semester :) I am super proud of him. I feel very blessed to be his wife. I don't know what I would do without him and I am so thankful we get to be together forever. He is my best friend, I could't ask for a better one.

Happy September everyone :)

forever family

Hello :)
I've decided to write a little update while my handsome husband is preparing his lesson for tomorrow. The topic of this blog update is about the highlight of my summer

QUINN FAMILY REUNION

Mom and Dad fell in love and then had six kids and those 8 turned into 22.5 and we all got together last week which almost never happens because we all all so spread apart. My family is super cool and it was so perfect i'm still feeling a little sad that its over and it ended a week ago.

Brian and Sarah found a house for us to rent in Bear Lake. Bear Lake is famous for their raspberries apparently.. and there is a lake there.. So our only plans were to pick raspberries and go to the lake. The rest of the fun came from what we do best! Eating.. and laughing. :) A lot of both actually.

It was perfect! Even the drive there was perfect!

Seriously I love Idaho.

We all arrived at different times on Monday. It had been raining on and off all day but thankfully it cleared up enough for us to walk down to the beach. To be perfectly honest I think we went there anticipating that there would be a man on the beach in a little shack ready to make us milkshakes. Because.. Brain said there would be, but unfortunately there was no man in a shack. Despite the disappointment.. we enjoyed the sunset on the beach :)

Following the sunset we found a guy in a shack to make us milkshakes. Kind of.

The next couple of days were spent doing whatever we pleased. Some people watched Monsters Inc. One of my very favorite movies. Some people enjoyed sharing youtube videos.. My oldest niece showed us one that I thought was especially awesome. There was a little controversy about this video. The video is about peanut butter cups, and the person talking about the peanut butter cups is mimicking some general authorities. Some members of the family thought it may be crossing a line of respect. And I see their point, but Michael and I agree that if the men that were mimicked watched this video they would get a kick out of it. So I have decided I don't feel bad about sharing it with you guys. Seriously I think it is awesome.

We also spent a good amount of time at the beach! One day the weather was pretty crummy but we didn't let the weather stop our fun.

The Bear Lake part of the week ended on Thursday. My oldest Brother Bill left that morning morning to go back home and the rest of us went back to Pocatello. Marsha left on Saturday, Michael and I left on Sunday and I cried the whole way back to Rexburg.

All I can say is I am so thankful for a forever family.
I LOVE it when we are all together & I wish we could be more often. The plan is to gather again in two years. I am already so excited!! But two years is a long time..

Trust me. I know.

Well, Michael is done planning his lesson! So i'm gonna go be with him. :)

Goodnight everyone! :)

warm weather

Not much to blog about, but I figure I better do a quick update to keep the habit up.

It feels like summer outside finally, however my wonderful husband is still stuck in school. Not so fun, weekends are our favorite at our house :) But school isn't all bad.. Michael is a strait A student, I am very proud of him. Sometimes I think he works to hard but it seems to be worth it! We both love our jobs so life is going well. I am loving working in the health and fitness industry, I have learned so much! And, as of today I have lost 12 lbs. It took 2 months, and I only have 5 more lbs till I hit my goal weight so that is exciting!

We would be happy if we could spend some more time together, but we make time to so some fun things. We have taken some lovely walks, both in the dark and in the daylight. We have been going through all the Harry Potter movies yet again this year (a little slower this time..) We even went camping!

Just kidding, we just set up our tent in our living room. BUT we are going to put that tent to use sometime when he is done with school. Cant wait. We have been rollerblading which is Michael's favorite.

This weekends adventure will be at the zoo, then only a couple more weeks until the Winters family reunion. We are ready for some family time.

happy summer everyone :)

May Birthday

Its been a busy month. My sweet husband is doing an excellent job at juggling school, work and of course me. (i'm very needy I don't know how he does it!)

I have to brag for a second. Michael has made a couple of large accomplishments lately. I could just burst I am so proud of him.

1. He was nominated by his supervisor at work to be star of the month or something.. It sounds a little lame I think personally.. it kinda reminds me of grade school but don't let the cheesy name fool you. Its a big deal. Well he won it. So! Out of all the many workers at Melaluca Michael was chosen! They even made him to go a studio to get a professional photo taken to display at the office. He gets a gift card and this cool little start pin to go on his lanyard.

2. Speaking of his lanyard, he was just upgraded from a blue one to a red one, which means he is a supervisor now :) It was a pretty lengthy interview process. If I remember right there were 16 people interviewing for this position, they chose 4 out of the 16 to meet with the manager and then down to 2 and Michael got the job! I'm super excited for him. He deserves it for sure. So.. I made him no bake cookies.

That leads me to my next thought, we have these super cool neighbors (she lent me cocoa powder to make the cookies.. in case you were wondering why the thought of cookies was related to my neighbors) Anyway we had a party with them a couple weekends ago. We lit a fire right outside their door and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. Then the boys played video games while we watched random wedding videos online. They are just the perfect friends to have next door. We were sad that our friends Kalee and Dan weren't there, but it was still so fun :)

Last weekend we went to our hometown for my nephews baptism.

It was great :) He couldn't stop smiling all day it was so cute. I wish I could write about the feeling in that room, it was a really special event. Everyone that spoke did a really good job and Michael and I got to sing When I am Baptized. I was proud of him. We are so lucky to be a forever family.

Generally my family celebrates my birthday Memorial day weekend, so naturally we did that on Sunday. We used to always have a picnic at Ross Park and then go to the zoo, but we just did at home this year. My nephew Abram brought me a crown to wear because I was a princess, I thought it was very sweet.

I feel really blessed to have the family that I do. I am incredibly lucky. As cheesy as this sounds for as long as I can remember I used to always use my birthday wish to wish that I would marry the most perfect man for me when I grew up. I guess I was always a romantic and wanted to find my other half. Now that he is mine I don't know what to wish for. It was the same wish for so long.

So, I wasn't to disappointed when I failed to blow out the 22 candle.

We said our "see you laters" the next day which is always so so sad. We only have to wait till August to see them again and then we will be with our whole family for our first ever Quinn Family reunion! I just cant wait.

Happy Birthday to all those who share May 30th with me :)
And Happy Anniversary (tomorrow) to Michael and Marsha! Its been a short 10 years.

 love you guys :)
